Style Guide: What to Wear

You’re here because you love images that feel connected, full of light, and alive with warmth. 🌿
That’s what my style is built on — connection, light, and colour. Clothing plays a gentle part in that story: it adds warmth on the body to match the warmth in the heart, helping create images that feel like you.

Colours

Soft, natural, and earthy tones sit beautifully in photographs. They allow the light to wrap around you and let your story shine.

  • Warm browns, muted greens, terracotta, creams, oat, soft blues, dusty pinks, muted florals.

  • At home, these tones create a cosy, timeless feel.

  • Outdoors, they blend seamlessly with golden light and nature.

If deeper tones (black, navy, burgundy) are part of your style, include them — just balance with lighter layers or textures so they don’t overwhelm the image.

Neon or very bright primaries (like hot pink, lime green, or fire-engine red) can dominate the frame and change the vibe — it’s best to leave those for another day.

Textures & Movement

Texture and layers bring depth and life to your images. Think: linen, knits, lace, denim, cotton, or subtle patterns.
Flowy dresses, skirts, and fabrics that move with the breeze create a natural sense of energy.

Family Flow

Think of your outfits as part of the same story rather than identical copies. Choose 2–4 colours that complement each other. This creates harmony without needing everyone to match exactly.

Style Notes

Be yourself — whether playful, bold, or simple and understated. Just avoid heavy logos or large graphics that might pull focus.

  • Bare feet are always welcome.

  • Natural skin tones always look beautiful.

  • Watches, sunnies, and chunky accessories? Best left behind.

A Little Prep

Gather outfits a few weeks before so the day feels easy and relaxed. And if you’d like, send me a photo — I’m always happy to help with a second opinion.

The Heart of It All

Clothes set the mood, but connection tells the story. This is about you and your people — laughing, cuddling, chasing kids, baking muffins, dancing in the kitchen, or breathing in the sea air.

Be present. Be together. That’s all that truly matters. 💛
